This List Data Was Compiled and Last Updated on April 7, 2011 on the EPA WEBSITE

Certified Alternative Fuel Conversion Systems

About this list:

- The conversion systems on this list have been certified by EPA as meeting applicable emission standards and are exempt from the Clean Air Act tampering prohibition.* This list is not comprehensive. At this time it includes all conversion certificates that EPA issued through Verify in 2011 plus heavy-duty 2011 conversion certificates that the manufacturers specifically requested EPA to include. Certified conversions that do not appear on this list are also exempt from the tampering prohibition.

- The tampering exemption only applies to conversions of vehicles/engines covered by the certificate.

- The conversion certificate lists the OEM test groups/engine families and/or evaporative families for which the conversion system is applicable. The OEM test group/engine family information is found on the VECI label of the OEM vehicle/engine. The conversion test group/engine family and the conversion evaporative family must match with the applicable OEM test groups/engine families and evaporative families.

- Certified conversion systems may be applied to new, intermediate age, or outside useful life vehicles/engines covered by the conversion certificate.

- EPA will revise this list periodically. Conversion manufacturers may email complanceinfo@epa.gov to obtain a template for submitting updates or other certificate information they wish EPA to include on the next revision to this list.

How to use this list:

- Select the appropriate tab below (Light-Duty and HD Chassis Certified or Heavy-Duty Engines)

IMPORTANT!

- The tampering exemption is valid only if the conversion is installed on the OEM test groups/engine families and/or evaporative/refueling families listed on the certificate. 40 CFR 85.505(g)

- Please contact the conversion manufacturer if you have any question about applicability of a conversion product for a specific vehicle or engine.
